January 1, 2007.  New Years day rain postponed our planned trip to the Mummers Day Parade in Philadelphia, so Paddy and I visited the Grand Central Terminal in New York City instead.  The terminal is huge and has marvelous period architecture.

It was lunchtime when we arrived so we visited one of the many restaurants.  They offer everything from fast food to fine dining.

Back to the walking tour.  The terminal is very large indeed.  It has a Central Market, a New York Transit Museum and many shops.  (The date and time we visited, the museum and market were closed).

One of the Grand Central Terminal exits led to the Grand Hyatt Hotel, so we stopped by.  The Grand Hyatt also had shops.

The traffic was very light, no delays getting to Washington Square and no waiting for entry into the Holland Tunnel in either direction.
