VETERANS PARK - RED BANK, NJ

click on any photo to ENLARGE

July 6, 2012.  You rarely see anyone visiting Veterans Park for several reasons:  first it is surrounded by 3 very busy streets and it would be dangerous for a family with kids to cross these streets, second it is very small and built as a memorial to those who served their country in time of war, rather than a recreational area.

As one drives south from Middletown on Rt. 35 and enters Red Bank at Pearl and Front Street, the clock tower at City Center Plaza comes into view.  At the stop light, the triangle shaped park is on the left.

The park contained a flag, an artillery piece and several monuments.  The park was dedicated by the Navesink River V.F.W. post 438 in Red Bank.

This park represents another fine Veterans of Foreign Wars' project to remember those who served our country in time of war.
