July 22, 2012. Woodrow Wilson Hall was formerly know as the Shadow Lawn Mansion. The owner of Shadow Lawn loaned his mansion to President Wilson for use as his summer home. Shadow lawn burned to the ground in 1927. F.W. Woolworth's president Hubert Templeton rebuild the mansion during the depression for 10.7 million dollars! The name Wilson Hall was retained and has became a National Historic Landmark.
A lot more could be said of his historic building, but I just took photos:
After our tour, we traveled to Spring Lake and had dinner at the Black Trumpet. Great food, great location. During dinner, we were entertained by Robinson Rivera, a most talented musician and vocalist.
Another enjoyable day trip in Monmouth County, NJ.
