KINGSTON, NY

October 9, 2013.  An email from the Chamber of Commerce in Saratoga Springs, NY said the foliage was at peak, so Paddy and I headed north from New Jersey.  Along the way we saw something interesting off Rt 9, so we stopped and found a tourist Mecca with a large Marina.

It was lunch time and after scouting out the town restaurants, we selected the Mariner's Harbor restaurant.  We chose the patio section and had a most comfortable and enjoyable lunch.

The marina had large commercial vessels for the Hudson River tours as well as private pleasure boats.

Gallo Park, by the marina, had many patriotic markers to pay tribute to our veterans.

In the same tourist area was a trolley museum.

Several original WWII PT boats are being refurbished at this harbor.  The is also a Marine Museum in the area.

The Kingston City Marina was a most interesting place to visit.

(As it turned out, there was no no peak foliage in Saratoga Springs so we continued northbound and spent the night at the Queensbury Hotel in Glens Falls, NY where we also had dinner at Fenimore's restaurant).
