July 29, 2016. A while back I remembered traveling south on Rt 537 out of Freehold and came across this flea market. I remembered that some of the buildings had bright colors, so I revisited the market on a day when it was closed to take photos.
Fortunately when I started out, one of the owners happened to come by and gave me a brief history of the village. Sandy Heller and her husband Les have been the proprietors for over 50 years. Sandy is a very nice lady and she said managing the village keeps her and her husband young.
Many of the buildings had a patriotic theme.
For the shoppers that needed a rest, Sandy and Les set up some benches under a large shade tree.
Since it was 92 degrees when I was taking these photos, I thought the yellow note in the window was humorous.
I really enjoyed the picture taking and I was glad I met Sandy Heller.
