NEW JERSEY FESTIVAL OF BALLOONING

SOLBERG AIRPORT - READINGTON, NJ

July 28, 2018.  Paddy and I revisited the festival after a number of years passed by.  Twice, in the past, we visited inside with all the vendors and the food and the bands, but this year we just wanted to see the balloons.   Things were very different this year:  the balloons took off but they hardly reached any elevation.  In years past, the balloons went very high up and they travelled for miles while lots of people were chasing them on the back roads.  Many balloons would land a long distance from the start.

Was the flight plan changed because there was no wind and the temperature and humidity was high, or perhaps they wanted to eliminate the traffic on the back roads (which was really a fun activity).

Somewhere in the middle of picture taking, looking over the horizon,  I counted 30 balloons in flight, but there were still a few more on the ground.

It was a most enjoyable evening watching the beautiful balloons.
