October 20, 2018. Paddy and I went to Lake George yesterday to see fall foliage, but everything was green. Today's trip was two fold: 1. to see the Rhinebeck Aerodrome and 2. Check out my new Nikon P1000 camera.

Observations on Handholding the Nikon P1000.
. Zooming from 24-800mm is no problem.
. Zooming at 2000mm with a stationary object needs a steady hand, but is also not a problem.
. I tried to shoot moving airplanes at 3000mm but none of the shots came out to my satisfaction. I should have found stationary targets with which to practice, but all of my 3000mm shots at moving targets were less than perfect or were blurry.
. After taking a photo, there is a short delay before you can take another. In continuous mode, it will fire at max speed with no delay.
. I must give the P1000 more of a test at 3000mm and I will also try the 3000mm on airplanes with a tripod.
. I made a couple of short video segment and they were easy to shoot and came out fine.
. It was fun to use this camera.
