February 16, 2020. Located inside Liberty State Park is the famous Central NJ railroad terminal, which is adjacent to the Hudson River.
After departing ferry boats from NYC, passengers can take one of many trains to points south.
There were 20 tracks to accommodate 300 trains each day to points south in New Jersey and to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The Famous Blue Comet was known as the 'Seashore's finest train' and it ran 7 days a week from this terminal to south NJ and Atlantic City. The locomotive was capable of 100 miles per hour.
Monument to honor former employees of the Central Railroad of New Jersey.
The terminal was filled with many artifacts and photos of the history of railroading.
Inside the auditorium was a continuous slide show showing the history of the railroads and the terminal.
Back outside.
Adjacent to the railroad terminal was a cruise boat to the Statue of Liberty.
From the terminal are excellent views of the New York skyline across the Hudson River.
A nice view of One World Trade Center.
Liberty State Park is an excellent photo opportunity destination.
