January 15, 2022. The last time I visited Northlandz was in 2011. I wanted to again enjoy the trains and to see if anything was added.
Created by Bruce Zaccagnino, Northlandz contains 100 miniature trains traveling on 8 miles of track. Northlandz is in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the world's largest model railroad. Northlandz contains 35 foot mountains, over 250,000 trees and 400 bridges one of which is 40 feet long.
This scene shows the incredible detail Mr. Zaccagnino took making his displays. The whole Northlandz railroad experience is detailed just like this one.
Mr. Zaccagnino also created a well appointed doll museum within the Northlandz facility.
On a previous visit in 2011 I had the pleasure of hearing Mr. Zaccagnino play the white organ. The music was beautiful and it was immediately obvious that Mr. Zaccagnino was a professional musician. It was most enjoyable.
The Master Control Room where several banks of electrical rheostats set the speed of the 100 trains throughout the facility.
Photos on this webpage are but a tiny, tiny fraction of the many scenes to enjoy. It's hard to believe that one man, Bruce Zaccagnino, could create such beauty and interest.
