NEW HOPE FANTASY RENAISSANCE FAIRE 2012

April 21, 2012.  The 3rd annual Fantasy Renaissance Faire was held in perfect weather, sunny and 75 degrees.  In previous years, the Faire was held at several areas within New Hope; however, this year the event was concentrated into one city block.  The period costumes and the playing of ancient musical instruments made the day a big success.

A highlight of the Faire was to see and enjoy the very pretty, smiling ladies in medieval dress.

This gentleman made me laugh.  He was standing on the sidewalk with his mouth closed and I walked up to him and said: "Excuse me, but you look like a gentleman I took a photo of last year, but he had fangs", to which the gentleman struck his famous pose:

And this lady cracked me up too.  I asked her:  "What is that little furry thing", pointing to her cleavage.  She replied in almost a straight face:  "It's a tit mouse".

There were some very unusual musical instruments on display, but when the musicians started to play, the music came out very sweet.

The re-enactors were having a great time today.

Everywhere you looked, smiling faces in costume.

Some of today's visitors struck an attractive profile too.

In addition to re-enactors, vendors were also in period costume.

A few of the following photos are additional shots of the same people, but I liked them, so here they are.

In the summer, you can always count on New Hope to bring out those unusual butterflies.

The following comment was posted on the New Hope Chamber of Commerce website:  "Due to a large number of opposing opinions, the 2013 New Hope Fantasy Renaissance Faire will not take place. Please accept our sincerest apologies."  My wife and I really enjoyed the past Faires and since we would spend money for lunch and dinner in New Hope, we wondered why the locals opposed it??
